Shopify App Store

apps.shopify.com ↗

Paid only directory

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-25. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

Requirements

  • You must build a real Shopify app (OAuth install, app URLs, compliance webhooks subscribed) — this is not a listing-only directory
  • A Shopify Partner account is required to create and submit apps
  • App icon must be exactly 1200x1200 px JPEG or PNG
  • Compliance webhooks (privacy-law data callbacks) are mandatory for App Store distribution
  • Domains and the API contact email must not contain 'Shopify' or misspellings/abbreviations of it
  • Every submission needs a primary language and at least one complete App Store listing
  • Automated checks on the review page must pass before submission is allowed
  • If the app uses protected customer data, that request must be completed BEFORE review starts — it cannot be applied for while under review

Prepare before opening the form

  • Working Shopify app deployed at stable URLs with OAuth install flow
  • App icon 1200x1200 JPEG/PNG, listing copy, screenshots per the requirements checklist
  • Compliance webhook subscriptions implemented (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact)
  • Emergency contact email + phone number for critical technical issues
  • A monitored submission email — whitelist [email protected]
  • Protected customer data request form completed beforehand if needed

Workflow

  1. In the Partner Dashboard / Dev Dashboard, open the 'Shopify App Store review' page for your app
  2. Complete Configuration: URLs, compliance webhooks, icon, API contact, emergency contact
  3. Create the App Store listing (primary language + at least one listing)
  4. Run the automated checks and fix every failure
  5. Submit for review; Shopify emails the submission contact during review
  6. Respond promptly to reviewer questions — repeated non-response or unresolved issues leads to temporary suspension

Watch for

  • Two or more unresolved reviewer exchanges, growing issue counts, or ignoring review emails gets the app Suspended — each repeat lengthens the suspension
  • Submitting beta versions or incomplete submissions can delay or forfeit approval
  • You cannot request protected customer data access while the app is under review — sequence it first
  • Using 'Shopify' (or lookalike spellings) in domains/emails violates the Partner Program Agreement
  • Suspension applies per-app only, not to the whole Partner account

What counts as live

App passes review and its public listing resolves at apps.shopify.com/<handle> with install button and reviews enabled

Not verified

  • Typical review duration — not stated on the submission page
  • Exact contents of the automated check suite
