Conditional free route review

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

What the free route requires

  • Free submission via the Suggest an App form, but the product must be a kids'/educational iOS or Android app — general SaaS does not fit
  • Paid apps must include a promo code so editors can download for review
  • Editors respond only to selected requests — most submissions likely get no reply

Requirements

  • An app for children — the entire catalog is kids' games, books, and educational apps scored on educational value
  • iOS or Android app (web-only products are out of scope)
  • ≤400-character one-sentence app description
  • Promo code if the app is paid
  • Image captcha on the form

Prepare before opening the form

  • App name and store link
  • A tight ≤400-char description emphasizing educational content
  • Promo code for paid apps
  • Contact name and email

Workflow

  1. Open https://www.appysmarts.com/suggest.php
  2. Choose between 'submit to database and newsletter' vs 'submit for free evaluation' (the evaluation is their review path)
  3. Fill name, email, app name, description, promo code, comments
  4. Solve the image captcha and send
  5. Wait — they only reply to selected submissions

Watch for

  • Niche gate: if the product isn't a kids' app, don't submit — it's outside their catalog entirely
  • Low-scored apps still get listed (the homepage shows 20-40/100 reviews) — a review is not an endorsement; a poor score could hurt
  • No guaranteed response or timeline
  • Batch's 'nofollow' hint is plausible — links likely don't pass much value anyway on an editorial review site

What counts as live

The app gets a scored review page under /application/<slug>,id_<n>.php and appears in the catalog/newsletter

Not verified

  • Editorial selection rate and review turnaround
  • Whether database-only submissions (no review) are accepted more often than evaluation requests
  • Link type on review pages
