Conditional free route other

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

What the free route requires

  • Free account, but this is an academic social-bookmarking/publication-sharing system — a SaaS product page only fits as a bookmark post, which is marginal and can be seen as spam by the research community
  • Posts must be set to 'public' visibility to be indexable; tags are a required field

Requirements

  • Registered account with email activation (activation link valid 24 hours)
  • Bookmark URL plus required tags describing it
  • Choose 'public' visibility — private/friends/group posts are not publicly visible

Prepare before opening the form

  • Email for registration + activation
  • Product URL and a set of meaningful tags (tag recommenders suggest existing vocabulary)
  • Optional: a description/comment for the bookmark

Workflow

  1. Register at bibsonomy.org/signup and activate via the email link within 24h (site sits behind a JS browser check — use a real browser)
  2. Go to /editBookmark, enter the product URL, then fill metadata and tags
  3. Set visibility to 'public' and save
  4. The bookmark appears on your public user page and in tag listings

Watch for

  • JS anti-bot challenge on every page — automation will fail; use a browser
  • Academic community — pure marketing bookmarks are off-culture and may draw abuse flags
  • Bookmark value is weak SEO at best; the platform is for citation/bookmark sharing
  • Registration link expires after 24 hours

What counts as live

The bookmark is visible on the public BibSonomy user/tag pages (bibsonomy.org/user/<name> or tag listings)

Not verified

  • Whether outbound bookmark links are dofollow
  • Anti-spam moderation threshold
  • Current site activity level
