Requirements

Open to any business; Brownbook is a free global business listing database anyone can edit
Search for the business name and town first to check whether a listing already exists before adding a new one

Go to https://www.brownbook.net/account/signup (or /register/) and create a free account
Open the validation email and click 'Activate Account' to confirm the account
Log in, then click the '+' at top right or choose 'Add a business' from the account dropdown
Complete the 2-step add-business form (business details, business tags, location tags), tick the 'I'm not a robot' checkbox, and click 'Add'
The listing appears on brownbook.net almost immediately; then click 'Claim this listing for FREE' to verify ownership and unlock editing

The signup page returned HTTP 403 to automated fetching (bot protection) - expect to complete the form manually
Listings go live near-instantly but remain claimable by the owner; claim the listing so details cannot be edited by third parties
Duplicate listings are a known risk - always search first instead of blindly adding

The business page is publicly reachable on brownbook.net and appears in site search; claiming the listing shows a confirmation banner

Whether any paid tier still exists for enriched listings (help docs mention 'practically free' promotion features; no current pricing page was verified)
