Requirements
- Everything listed must be 'made, designed, handpicked, or sourced by a seller' per Etsy's Creativity Standards and Seller Policy — a pure SaaS product is not a natural fit; digital templates/tools a maker designed may qualify
- A shop requires an Etsy account, shop location/currency, shop name, at least one listing, a payment method (Etsy Payments), and a billing method
- A one-time shop set-up fee may be charged — the amount is shown before final setup completion
- Each listing costs $0.20 USD and stays active four months; 6.5% transaction + 3% + $0.25 payment processing on sales; optional/mandatory-off-threshold Offsite Ads take 15% of attributed sales
Prepare before opening the form
- A sellable digital or physical item — for a software product this means a compliant digital good (e.g. a template, preset pack, or download the seller designed), not just a signup link
- Shop name, location, currency, bank details for Etsy Payments, and a card for billing
- Listing assets: photos/mockups, title, description, price, delivery method for digital items
Workflow
- Open https://www.etsy.com/sell and click 'Open your Etsy shop'
- Create/sign into an Etsy account, set shop location and currency, choose a shop name
- Note the one-time shop set-up fee shown before final step (if applicable)
- Create the first listing ($0.20 fee), set payment method (how you get paid) and billing method (how fees are paid)
- Publish — the listing is live for four months and links to the shop, which can carry a website URL in the shop profile
Watch for
- Fee stack is real: set-up fee + $0.20/listing + 6.5% transaction + payment processing + possible 15% Offsite Ads fee (mandatory above a sales threshold)
- The 'free' pricing claim in seed data is wrong — listings cost $0.20 each and a set-up fee may apply
- Listing a thin 'link to my SaaS' item violates the Creativity Standards; only list a genuine sellable digital good
- Listing fees auto-renew; listings expire after four months or on sale
What counts as live
The shop is public at etsy.com/shop/<name> and at least one listing page is published and purchasable
Not verified
- Whether a SaaS-adjacent digital product survives Etsy review in practice
- Whether the shop's external website field produces a followed link
