Free route review

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-25. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

Requirements

  • B2B only — 'G2 does not accept business-to-consumer (B2C) products or products that are currently in the alpha or beta stage of development.'
  • Submit via the Product Submission Form at g2.com/products/new; G2's research team verifies eligibility and categorization (~3-5 business days) before placing it.
  • After the profile is live, claim it ('Unclaimed' → 'Claim this profile'); claim review takes 1–3 business days.
  • One G2 listing per product for software companies; service providers get one profile per vendor. Profile names must be the real product/company name — no descriptions, marketing language, or symbols.

Prepare before opening the form

  • Check whether G2 already auto-created a listing under a different name first.
  • Official product name (exact; no taglines/symbols).
  • Product description, key features, customer value text (up to ~500 words for Profile Details).
  • Logo file; screenshots and video for a complete profile.
  • Packages/pricing info.
  • my.G2 access via LinkedIn, Facebook, Google, or business email.

Workflow

  1. Search g2.com for the product — claim it if already listed.
  2. Otherwise fill https://www.g2.com/products/new (Product Submission Form).
  3. Wait for the research team's conditional approval (~3-5 business days) — the profile goes live and is claimable.
  4. Claim the profile (1-3 business days for final approval).
  5. Complete the profile in my.G2 → Product Profile → Product Information (logo, details, screenshots, pricing); optionally 'Optimize for SEO' AI-enhanced text.
  6. Collect reviews; consider paid Seller plans only if needed (profile itself is free).

Watch for

  • Alpha/beta and B2C products are refused outright — don't submit pre-launch.
  • Claiming is a second review gate after profile creation.
  • Category placement is decided by G2's research team — you propose, they dispose.
  • my.G2 upsells (badges, analytics, buyer intent) are paid — a free profile is fully sufficient for a listing.
  • Post-2026 acquisition, Capterra/GetApp/Software Advice are managed from a separate G2 Digital Markets cabinet — different portal, not shared with G2.

What counts as live

A public g2.com/products/<slug> page marked Claimed (or Unclaimed but visible) with reviews capability — verified once the research team approves and the profile resolves publicly.

Not verified

  • Whether products in public beta-with-pricing edge cases pass review.
  • Exact conditional-approval criteria beyond B2B/not-alpha-beta.
