Houzz
Conditional free route directory
Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.
What the free route requires
- Pro profiles can be created via 'Join as a Pro', but the directory is gated to home design/remodeling/service professionals — a SaaS product does not qualify
- The batch-provided pro-services/signUp URL 404s; the live entry point is the 'Join as a Pro' link on houzz.com/professionals
Requirements
- Business must be a home-industry professional: architects, interior designers, contractors, remodelers, landscapers, home services, etc. — categories on the directory are exclusively these trades
- Requires a real business name, location/service area, phone/contact details and portfolio photos
- Not applicable to pure software/SaaS products
Prepare before opening the form
- Verify the product is actually a home-industry business (otherwise skip Houzz entirely)
- Business name, address/service area, phone, website
- Portfolio photos of completed work
- Professional license info where applicable (Verified License badge exists)
Workflow
- Open houzz.com/professionals and click 'Join as a Pro'
- Complete the pro registration with business category, location, and contact details
- Build the profile with project photos, description, and services
- Profile becomes discoverable in the Find Pros directory after review
Watch for
- This is a wrong fit for SaaS — do not submit a software product; only a genuine home-services business belongs here
- Houzz heavily upsells Houzz Pro (project management, CRM, payments) during onboarding
- The sourced signup URL (pro-services/signUp) is dead; use the Join as a Pro flow from /professionals
What counts as live
A public pro profile page appears in the Houzz professional directory under the chosen trade and metro area
Not verified
- Exact fields/steps inside the Join as a Pro flow
- Whether free-tier profiles still get full directory placement vs Houzz Pro subscribers
