Atlassian Marketplace

marketplace.atlassian.com ↗

Conditional free route directory

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

What the free route requires

  • Listing requires a real working app/integration built on an Atlassian platform (Forge or Connect for cloud, or a Data Center app) — this is not a listing-only directory
  • Partner registration is free, but cloud apps must meet security requirements and pass app review; paid apps are revenue-shared via Atlassian

Requirements

  • An Atlassian account, then a partner account created at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/manage/vendor/create with company details
  • A functioning app: Forge or Connect cloud app, or Data Center/Server app package — a SaaS marketing page alone is not listable
  • Cloud apps must satisfy security requirements and may face security questionnaires, identity/business verification, and scanning (Ecoscanner)
  • Listings go through Atlassian app review ('Submit for review' in the onboarding guide); editing a listing is locked during review
  • Partner contacts need assigned roles (primary, support, licensing/finance, security, engineering, etc.)

Prepare before opening the form

  • Built and tested Forge/Connect/DC app deployed at stable URLs
  • Partner profile (company details) and contact roles assigned
  • Pricing/licensing model decision (free vs paid-via-Atlassian)
  • Branding, support, privacy, and security documentation per the pre-launch checklist
  • Marketing assets for the listing per app approval guidelines

Workflow

  1. Create an Atlassian account and log into marketplace.atlassian.com
  2. Create a partner account at marketplace.atlassian.com/manage/vendor/create
  3. Follow the partner onboarding guide: define product, build with Forge tooling, test on developer instances
  4. Decide pricing and licensing; prepare branding, support, privacy, and security artifacts
  5. Create the Marketplace listing and link the app
  6. Submit for review; respond to reviewer questions; go live and market the app
  7. Post-launch: track customers/revenue, respond to reviews, maintain security posture

Watch for

  • This is a build-an-app marketplace — weeks of real engineering, not a 10-minute directory submission
  • Listing cannot be edited while under review
  • Cloud apps face security scans and can be unlisted under the Security Enforcement Policy
  • Only 'paid via Atlassian' apps get some partner perks (e.g. free support-tools licenses)
  • Server apps are end-of-sale — only cloud and Data Center paths matter now

What counts as live

The app has a public, approved listing on marketplace.atlassian.com reachable from Marketplace search (not hidden/draft)

Not verified

  • Exact review turnaround time
  • Revenue-share percentage for paid-via-Atlassian apps (partner agreement terms not read this session)
  • Whether a free listing of a paid-elsewhere app is allowed under current terms
