Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-25. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

Requirements

  • You must be an owner, employee, or authorized representative of the business
  • Local businesses, casual service providers, and home service providers are eligible
  • Casual goods/services providers (e.g., dog walking, babysitting) need official business documents to verify the page before posting to the neighborhood newsfeed; without documents they can only use 'Neighbor Made'/'Neighbor Services' options from a member account
  • Business Pages may already exist (data comes from third-party public sources) — search by name + location before creating a new page

Prepare before opening the form

  • Business name, category, service area, contact info, photos
  • A Nextdoor account — either a new business account or your existing personal member account to link
  • Business verification documents if you're a casual/home service provider

Workflow

  1. Go to business.nextdoor.com/local and choose 'Sign up for Free' / 'Claim Your Free Business Page'
  2. Create an account or log in (optionally link your personal Nextdoor account — don't link if employees will share the business login)
  3. Search for your business by name + location; claim the existing page, or click 'Not here? Create your Business Page.'
  4. Complete the page: contact info, photos, story
  5. Post to the neighborhood newsfeed from the Content tab ('Create Post or Local Deal'); choose audience radius/neighborhoods

Watch for

  • If you don't select your own neighborhood for a post, you won't see it from your member account
  • Duplicate pages are common because pages are auto-generated — always search before creating
  • Nextdoor is a local neighborhood network: best fit for local services, not global SaaS launches
  • Verification documents are required before casual providers can post to the newsfeed

What counts as live

The claimed Business Page is publicly visible on nextdoor.com with correct name/info, and (if posting) your posts appear in the selected neighborhoods' feeds

Not verified

  • Exact verification document types accepted for casual providers
  • Whether Business Pages are publicly indexable by search engines or login-gated
