openPR
Conditional free route directory
Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.
What the free route requires
- Free tier is capped at 1 press release per 30 days; additional releases need paid credit points
- Free email providers (Gmail etc.) are rejected — a company-domain email is required
- Full postal address and complete press-contact details are mandatory — 'just an email address or URLs' is explicitly insufficient
Requirements
- A real press release — news-style copy (headline ≤110 chars, ≥80 words of coherent text), not a product ad
- Complete contact block: company name, full postal address, press contact
- Company-domain email (no Gmail/free providers — releases from them are deleted)
- Image recommended: JPG/GIF min 1200×900, max 2000×2000, 1MB — 'without an image the press release WILL NOT be listed by Google News'
- Link limits in text — submit page says max 5 intext backlinks; the FAQ says up to 3 links (keep to 3 to be safe)
Prepare before opening the form
- Press-release copy announcing a real launch/news event
- Company postal address, press contact name, company-domain email
- A ≥1200×900 image (logo graphic or product shot)
- Optional: paid credits if more than 1 release per 30 days is needed
Workflow
- Open https://www.openpr.com/news/submit.html (browser — the site 403s automated fetches)
- Fill headline (≤110 chars), body, company portrait, full postal address, press contact, company-domain email
- Attach the image; enter a credits code only if using paid volume
- Submit — releases are activated during business hours Mon–Fri 9:00–17:00 CET; off-hours submissions sit in a waiting loop
- Verify indexing with a site:openpr.com Google search on the release title
Watch for
- Batch URL /user/register.html is not the submit route — use /news/submit.html
- Duplicate/repeated releases, spam, and automated submission software get deleted
- Adult, supplements and trademark-infringing content banned
- Conflicting link limits across pages (3 vs 5) — stay ≤3
- No same-day publication; only business days
What counts as live
The press release page resolves at an openpr.com/news/... URL and is findable via site:openpr.com search
Not verified
- Whether outbound links in releases are follow/nofollow on live pages
- Current credit-point pricing (price list page not fetched)
- Whether German openPR.de's free tier (2 releases/yr) differs from openpr.com's 1/month
