Requirements
- Business account is free; sign-up email must not already be tied to an existing Pinterest account
- New business accounts can only be created from a desktop device (per Help article)
- Converting a personal account requires it to be public — private accounts must switch to public first, and linked accounts must be unlinked
- Creating an account means accepting Pinterest's Business Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Prepare before opening the form
- A business email not already used on Pinterest
- Business description details for the 'Build your profile' and 'Describe your business' steps
- Product website URL (optional profile field)
- Pin-worthy original visual assets — this is a content platform, not a directory; the 'listing' is Pins/boards on a public profile
Workflow
- On desktop, go to pinterest.com, click Sign up, then 'Create a business account' (or convert an existing personal account via Settings > Account management > Convert to a business account)
- Enter email, password, age and create the account
- Complete 'Build your profile' and 'Describe your business' fields, including the website URL
- Publish boards and Pins that link back to the product site — Pins carry the destination URL
Watch for
- New business account creation is desktop-only per the Help article
- This is a social/content platform: the payoff is a public profile + Pins, not a directory listing — catalog 'link' value comes from Pin destination links and the profile website field
- Ads upsell during onboarding ('Select if you want to run ads') — skippable
- Batch claim 'link=nofollow' is plausible for Pin links but was not verified on the fetched page
What counts as live
A public business profile at pinterest.com/<handle> with the website field set and published Pins linking to the product URL
Not verified
- Whether outbound Pin/profile links are followed or nofollow (not stated on the fetched page)
- Any review/holding period for new business profiles
