Requirements
- Only relevant if the product IS or HAS a public API — this is an API marketplace, not a startup directory
- Free RapidAPI account
- A working API: either define it in the RapidAPI UI or upload an OpenAPI spec
- Listing fields: logo, category, short + long description, website URL, terms of use, tags, base URLs
- Visibility is set to public on the Hub Listing; consumers subscribe to a plan before use
- Monetization is optional — plans (BASIC/PRO) can be free or paid
Prepare before opening the form
- A live, documented HTTP API with an OpenAPI spec (preferred) or endpoints to define manually
- Logo, category, descriptions, terms-of-use URL
- Decide plan structure (free tier + paid tiers if monetizing)
Workflow
- Sign up at rapidapi.com and open Studio (rapidapi.com/studio) or 'My APIs'
- Click 'Add New API' in the Provider Dashboard
- Define the API via the UI or upload an OpenAPI file
- Complete the Hub Listing tab: logo, category, descriptions, website, terms, tags, base URLs
- Configure plans on the Monetize tab (even a free listing needs a plan consumers subscribe to)
- Set visibility to public — the API then appears on the RapidAPI Hub
Watch for
- Listing requires an actual API product — a SaaS without a public API cannot list
- RapidAPI proxies calls — your API traffic flows through their gateway and they take a revenue share on paid plans
- Every API needs at least one plan defined before consumers can subscribe
- rapidapi.com returned an empty/JS-only response to plain fetch — details verified via docs.rapidapi.com
