Free route community

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

Requirements

  • Account required — /submit redirects to /log-in?redirect=/submit
  • You submit a LINK, not a product listing: articles, portfolios, CodePen demos, case studies
  • High-effort content only — case studies, tutorials; cookie-cutter listicles and link-through posts discouraged
  • New content only — links older than a few months won't make the cut
  • No paid products unless they offer a free/demo tier that's useful standalone; case studies ABOUT paid products are fine
  • No heavy downloads, app-store links, PDFs; videos rarely featured
  • Self-promotion is allowed ('posting your own content is fine') if it follows the guidelines

Prepare before opening the form

  • A Sidebar account
  • A genuinely high-effort design-relevant link — ideally a case study or tutorial about/around your product, not the product homepage
  • Freshness: content published within the last ~2-3 months

Workflow

  1. Create an account / log in at sidebar.io/log-in
  2. Submit the link at /submit
  3. Editors pick 5 links per weekday — no notification guarantee
  4. Check /archives to see if your link made it

Watch for

  • A bare product page is unlikely to be featured — wrap it in a valuable story (design process, case study)
  • Audience is designers/makers — irrelevant links waste the attempt
  • Paid sponsorship route exists via UX Collective (sponsor link → uxdesigncc Medium post) if editorial doesn't fit
  • 5 slots/day means heavy competition; don't resubmit

What counts as live

Your link appears on sidebar.io's homepage/archives as one of the day's five curated links

Not verified

  • Whether accepted submitters get notified
  • Backlink attribute on featured links
  • Sponsorship pricing (goes through UX Collective/uxdesign.cc contact)
