Requirements
- Account required — sign in via Google, GitHub, GitLab, Product Hunt, LinkedIn, or email/password
- First choice is listing intent: sell, find a co-founder, showcase, or record a sale — it determines what the project page becomes
- Categories: SaaS, Ecommerce/Shop, Blog, Website, Mobile, Desktop, Browser extension, Domain
- All projects go through a review process before approval
Prepare before opening the form
- Project name, description and category
- Images/screenshots and optionally a demo
- For sale listings: asking price plus revenue and user metrics, tech stack
- Decide the intent upfront — 'Sell' puts a for-sale badge on the listing
Workflow
- Open /submit (or /submit/type) and pick the listing intent
- Sign in with an OAuth provider or email
- Fill project details (name, description, category, images; price for sale listings)
- Publish — project pages live at /project/<id> with an assigned numeric id
- Listing appears in Latest Side Projects / category pages after review
Watch for
- Listing is free and sales carry no commission, but paid memberships ($3/$6/$9 per month) ration marketplace outreach — free tier allows only ~3 owner contacts and 2 DMs/day, aimed at buyers not listers
- Free tier is ad-supported with large sponsor panels
- Picking the wrong intent changes how the project is badged — 'Showcase' is the directory-equivalent path for a live product
- Submit pages render listing content publicly but the actual form requires login
What counts as live
A public project page at sideprojectors.com/project/<id> appearing in Latest Side Projects or its type/category listing.
Not verified
- Review/approval latency for new listings
- Whether showcase listings get dofollow outbound links
- Exact required fields per intent (form is behind auth)
