Requirements
- Space startups ONLY — sectors include launch, satellites, propulsion, earth observation, in-space manufacturing, space software, etc.
- Pre-seed to Series B scope — 'the companies that might become giants'; no defence primes, no space tourism
- Free, explicitly 'never pay-to-play' — no placements, stages, or statuses can be bought
- Curated: every entry is hand-verified against the public record (see /how-we-verify)
Prepare before opening the form
- A genuine space-economy product — a generic SaaS will not be listed
- Pitch email: what the company does, sector fit, founding year, HQ country
- Publicly verifiable funding/stage info — every figure on the site carries a source link
- Optional: founder availability for a written interview (27 published)
Workflow
- Email [email protected] requesting a listing (or an interview)
- Provide sector, country, founding year, stage, and source-able funding details
- The maintainer (Sarwech Shar) hand-curates — expect verification against public record before the entry goes live
- Listed companies get a profile card in the /startups directory; there's a free 'Get the badge' option for founders (/badge)
Watch for
- Narrow fit: only space-industry startups — do not pitch a general SaaS
- Statuses are honest, not flattering: entries are marked Acquired, Shut down, Dormant, or Graduated from the public record — a status cannot be bought or hidden
- Solo-curated since 2019 — turnaround depends on one maintainer
- Sponsorships exist but are 'clearly labeled' and separate from listings
