What the free route requires

  • Listing itself is free but requires creating a free account (no card) and passes a quality gate — 'researched listings' with editorial review; not a self-serve instant publish
  • If the product is already in the index, use /claim and verify a connection to its domain instead of submitting

Requirements

  • AI agents and the agent stack only: coding, support, sales/marketing, research/data, voice, legal agents, agent frameworks, platforms, tools/infrastructure, and agencies/build partners
  • A generic SaaS that is not an AI agent does not fit — categories are agent-specific
  • Account required; submission is reviewed ('share your website for review')

Prepare before opening the form

  • Account email for signup
  • Product URL and description; pick the right agent category (10 defined categories)
  • If already indexed: claim via /claim with domain verification
  • Optional budget for extras: Featured $12/mo (category placement), Premium $25/mo (homepage+picks), Website link $99/yr (single dofollow link on your listing), Primary Source $49 one-time (publish 32 answered questions in your own words)

Workflow

  1. Create a free account at https://theagentsindex.com/submit
  2. Share the product website for review (or claim an existing listing via /claim)
  3. Wait for editorial review — the index is curated ('datasheet' style: specs, price, whether it holds under load)
  4. Once published, optionally buy placement or the Website link upgrade; claimers see listing analytics (views, clicks, referrals)

Watch for

  • Placement links are rel='sponsored nofollow' — the ONLY dofollow option is the $99/yr Website link on your own listing
  • Paying never changes inclusion, organic ordering, or editorial assessment — ads are labeled Advertisement
  • Editorial standards mean a listing includes honest cons — coverage is not guaranteed positive
  • Small index (131 agents) but actively maintained (updated Sep 26, 2026)

A published listing page for the agent exists on theagentsindex.com under its category with specs/pricing datasheet fields

Not verified

  • Review turnaround time for free submissions
  • Whether the free listing's outbound link is nofollow (paid Website link suggests default is not followed)
