What the free route requires

  • Basic business listing is free but 'needs to be verified' — verification carries a 12 EUR / 5-year fee per the FAQ
  • Community members can add 'spots' for free without verification, but that is an unclaimed user-added spot, not an owner listing
  • Business owner account required for the managed-listing route (tupalo.com/en/bizusers/sign_up)

Requirements

  • This is a LOCAL business directory (Europe-heavy): required fields per Yext integration are Name, Address, Categories, Main Phone — a pure online SaaS with no physical location is a poor fit
  • Real address with map pin (their add flow places a marker on a map)
  • Phone number

Prepare before opening the form

  • Business name, street address, postal code, city
  • Main phone number and website URL
  • Categories, hours, description, photos (supported fields)
  • Business owner account email

Workflow

  1. Sign up for a Tupalo Business Owner account at /en/bizusers/sign_up
  2. Use 'Add your business' (/en/api/v5/spot/new or the spot add flow) and drop the map pin on the address
  3. Fill required fields: name, address, categories, main phone
  4. Submit; listing appears as a 'spot' page
  5. Optionally pay 12 EUR/5yr verification or upgrade to Premium for extra features

Watch for

  • tupalo.com 403s automated fetches — expect bot friction
  • Two interfaces: consumer site (tupalo.com) vs business portal (tupalo.biz) — links cross between them
  • Verification is a small recurring fee, not truly free
  • Adding a HQ-less SaaS as a 'local business' may be rejected or look spammy — fit is genuinely local-business only

What counts as live

The business appears as a public spot page on tupalo.com with address, phone, and category, searchable in its city

Not verified

  • Whether unverified free listings stay live indefinitely
  • Dofollow status of the website field
  • Whether virtual/online-only businesses are accepted
