Conditional free route other
Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.
What the free route requires
- Creating a raise is free for founders, but this is regulated equity crowdfunding — the 'listing' is a live securities offering requiring SEC Form C filing, not a directory entry
- Only appropriate if the product is actually raising investment; the batch's 'signup' route is for investors — founders go to wefunder.com/raise
- Only US-registered entities (C-Corp, LLC, Public Benefit Corp); ~half of Reg CF proceeds must be spent in the US
Requirements
- US legal entity (Delaware C-Corp typical) with EIN; foreign founders must notarize a Form C Power of Attorney
- Restricted industries excluded (cannabis, adult, gambling, pawn brokers, others per banking partners)
- Accurate campaign sections (Part 1–3) that generate the Form C filed with the SEC — errors delay launch
- Wefunder recommends launching only when investors are already willing to invest; 'Warmup' mode exists to build followers first
Prepare before opening the form
- US entity details: legal name, EIN, formation docs
- Investment terms, fundraise goal, pitch deck
- Decide Community Round (Reg CF, anyone can invest, $5M/yr cap) vs Private Round (Reg D, accredited investors only, no public solicitation by default)
- Founder identity verification documents; for foreign founders a notarized POA
Workflow
- Go to wefunder.com/raise and sign up the company (use a browser — site 403s automated fetches)
- Fill campaign sections Parts 1–3 — this data generates the SEC Form C
- Wefunder team reviews the submission and contacts you for next steps
- Optionally run a Warmup campaign to collect followers before going live
- Push live; a Community Round page becomes publicly visible at wefunder.com/<company>
Watch for
- This is a securities offering — every statement on the page is a regulated disclosure; no marketing hyperbole
- A live Reg CF page is public and indexable, but it exists to take investments — don't launch one just for exposure
- Reg D 506(b) private rounds cannot be publicly advertised at all
- Batch signup URL (wefunder.com/users/sign_up) is the investor account flow, not the founder raise flow
What counts as live
A public raise page exists at wefunder.com/<company> accepting investments (Community Round) — or for Warmup, a follower page is live
Not verified
- Review turnaround before a raise can go live
- Whether profile pages for non-raising companies can exist publicly
- Current fee split for Reg CF community rounds (only Private Round pricing was verified)
