Free route directory

Researched from public pages — no submission was run · sources read 2026-09-26. Rules change — recheck the platform's own pages before submitting.

Requirements

  • US local business with a real address and phone number — YP is a local-business citation directory, not a SaaS launch board
  • Phone verification is required: YP calls the business phone to confirm the claim — you must be able to answer that line
  • Use a business-domain email for the claim form per third-party guides

Prepare before opening the form

  • Consistent NAP: business name, street address, local phone, website URL
  • A person able to answer the business phone for the verification call
  • Business category, hours, and a short description

Workflow

  1. Open https://www.yellowpages.com/claim-your-listing and search the business by name + phone/location
  2. If the business exists, claim it ('Claim that Business'); if absent, create a new listing
  3. Register a YP account and accept the terms; fill profile fields (website URL, hours, category, social links)
  4. Complete the phone verification call from YP
  5. Confirm the listing appears on yellowpages.com search

Watch for

  • yellowpages.com blocks automated fetches (403) — use a real browser session
  • YP/Thryv will upsell paid advertising after the claim — the free listing needs no purchase
  • Phone verification is mandatory; virtual/SaaS businesses without a local number may fail
  • A purely online SaaS with no address/phone is a weak fit — this is a local-citation play

What counts as live

The business profile page appears in yellowpages.com search results with NAP details and website link visible to anonymous visitors

Not verified

  • Whether the website link on a free listing is follow or nofollow
  • Listing-review turnaround after phone verification
  • Whether fully-remote businesses with no storefront are accepted
